CHI St. Joseph Health named Kathy De Figueiredo Information Technology Services Site Director in July, 2015.
Kathy is responsible for advancing IT strategic planning and execution across five hospitals, two long-term care facilities and more than 30 clinics.
Bringing more than 20 years of health care experience and a nursing background to her role, Kathy is dedicated to optimizing IT infrastructure and solutions to elevate delivery of quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with senior leaders at all levels of our organization.
Since joining CHI St. Joseph Health as a Healthcare Informatics Specialist in 2006, Kathy’s experience has spanned various levels of management, education, informatics and consulting in Clinical Informatics.
As a certified eClinicalWorks trainer, she’s worked closely with physician and nursing staff to lead successful implementations of Electronic Health Record systems across hospitals and clinics. Focused on transforming care processes and improving outcomes, these EHR projects have encompassed nursing and physician documentation, Meditech 6.0, Surgical Information Systems (SIS) and bar-coded medication administration.
Kathy holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Informatics from the School of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Texas Health Science Center and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Binghamton University. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
