Once you’ve decided that you want to become a CHI St. Joseph Health volunteer, it’s simple to follow the application process.

The fact that all of our volunteers have submitted to this process ensures that you’ll be volunteering alongside quality people with a proven heart for others – not to mention the skilled healthcare professionals of CHI St. Joseph Health.

The Volunteer Services Department of CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan oversees all of the volunteer programs in Bryan and College Station.

Please review the options below to select the appropriate application to complete. All applications require you to submit a reference letter. Instructions are provided when you complete your application.

Once you submit your application, it will be sent directly to Volunteer Services for review. If you do not have access to a computer, there are computers available for your use on the third floor of the main hospital in the Labor & Delivery waiting room of CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital.

Adult Volunteer Application – Adults (non-students) volunteering at the main hospital, Rehab Center, Cancer Center, Skilled Nursing & Rehab or College Station locations in any of our available assignments.

College Volunteer Application – College students and those who are pursing educational goals in health-related careers or want to give back to our community. This program runs by the semester with new orientations offered at the beginning of each semester. Space fills up quickly, so we recommend that you apply early. Applications require you to submit a reference letter (how to submit provided with the application). Deadlines for submission of application and reference letter are December 5th for spring semester, April 10th for summer semester and July 10th for fall semester.  Applications and reference letters received after those dates are moved to the next semester.

Student Observer Application – Students who need shadowing hours may apply to our Student Observation program. Keep in mind that this is not a volunteer position and that you will need to be accompanied at all times by your assigned physician or staff member. This is observation only and patient/equipment handling is not permitted. To shadow a physician you will need to make personal contact with that physician or physician office and request permission to shadow. When applying as a student observer you will need to provide the date(s) that you will be observing.
