Safe Sitter® Course

As part of our commitment to child safety, CHI St. Joseph Health has been a certified Safe Sitter® teaching site for over 25 years. Safe Sitter® teaches young teens life and safety skills for when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

This course covers safety precautions, CPR and care for a choking infant or child, recognizing emergencies and how to call for emergency help, the basics of child care, including how to feed and diaper an infant, plus behaviors to expect with each age group. Students must have completed the 5th grade before taking this course.
