CHI St. Joseph Health named Rick Napper as Chief Executive Officer in November, 2015.
As CEO, Rick is responsible for operational leadership of CHI St. Joseph Health, as well as advancement of our market’s strategic initiatives, working closely with Texas Division and National leadership.
A health care executive with 20 years’ experience leading moderately-sized hospitals and health care systems like CHI St. Joseph Health, Rick brings a wide-ranging background in clinical, quality, and financial operations; new business development; employee and physician relations; and staff development to his role.
Prior to joining CHI St. Joseph Health, Rick served as Chief Operating Officer for CHI Memorial Healthcare System and President of Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Rick began his health care career as a nurse, later becoming assistant director of quality improvement at Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, Kentucky. In the years that followed, he held several executive leadership positions, including President and CEO of Crittenden Health Systems in Marion, Kentucky; Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia; and Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Mississippi.
Rick earned an LPN certification from the Academy of Health Sciences in Fort Sam Houston, Texas; a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from Park College in Parkville, Missouri; and Master of Business Administration degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Dayton Beach, Florida.
